How the free migration works
- 1 Tell us where your site is hosted
Open the form and share your domain and your current host. You do not need to know anything technical. Use the free migration form.
- 2 We copy your site, databases and email setup
Our engineers copy everything onto your akthost plan. Your live site keeps running on the old host while we do it.
- 3 We test the copy before you switch
We check the copy works - pages, forms and email - before anything changes for your visitors.
- 4 You point your domain to akthost
Once the copy works, the domain settings (nameservers) are changed so visitors land on akthost. It can take a few hours to spread, so some visitors may briefly see the old site.
- 5 Keep the old host for about a week
Do not cancel the old hosting until the new site and email both work. After about a week, cancel it.

How we handle your details during the move
To start, we only need your domain name and the name of your current host. If you give us a login for your old host so we can copy your site, we use it only to do the move.
We do not sell your details or share them with anyone for their own use. When the move is done, we remove those logins from our records, and you can change those passwords at any time. Read our Privacy Policy and our Hosting Terms.
Should you move at all?
Moving is worth it when your site is slow, your renewal price jumped, or nobody answers when something breaks. If you are happy where you are, stay. If you are not sure, send us your current host and ask. We will tell you plainly.

Is moving my website to akthost really free?
Yes. If your site is hosted somewhere else, our engineers move it onto an akthost plan at no cost. You pay for the akthost plan you choose, not for the move.
What do you move?
Your website files, your databases and your email setup. Your domain is then pointed to akthost once the copy is tested.
Will my website go offline while you move it?
Not by design. We copy and test first, and only then is the domain pointed at akthost. For a few hours after the switch some visitors may still see the old site while the change spreads.
Will my email addresses stay the same?
Yes. Your addresses on your own domain stay the same. We set up the mailboxes on akthost so they work when you switch.
Do I need to cancel my old host first?
No, please do not. Keep the old host running until the new site and email both work, then cancel it about a week later.
Which currencies can I pay in?
Prices show in your local currency where we offer it, and you can switch currency on the plans. The price you see is the price you renew at.
Will the price go up when I renew?
No. The price shown on akthost.com is the price you renew at. There is no teaser rate that rises later.
My site is on a host in another country. Can you still move it?
Tell us your current host in the form and we will say plainly if there is anything we cannot move.
