Hosting Terms and Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-28
These terms apply to every AKTHost service: web hosting, WordPress hosting, email hosting, domains, reseller accounts, VPS and dedicated servers. AKTHost is run by AkolagTech. By ordering or using a service you agree to these terms. Please read them once and keep a copy.
1. What is not allowed
You may not use our hosting, email or any other AkolagTech service for:
- Fraud, scams or fake businesses.
- Phishing pages or anything that tricks people into giving passwords, card details or money.
- Spam, including sending email to bought or scraped lists.
- Spreading malware, viruses or other harmful software.
- Selling or promoting hacking services, spyware or tools to break into WhatsApp, other apps, computers or accounts.
- Any other illegal activity on the internet.
If we find any of these on an account, we suspend or end the service without a refund.
2. Fair use of server resources
Shared hosting means many websites share one server, so one site must not slow down everyone else. We do not support scripts that use too much CPU, memory or disk activity on shared hosting, for example heavy PHP or Python jobs, or scripts that run third-party tools on the server.
If your site or app needs more power, we will tell you and help you move to a dedicated hosting plan or a server with its own resources. If the heavy use continues and the move does not happen, we may suspend the service to protect other customers.
3. Billing and renewals
- We send your renewal invoice 30 days before the due date.
- If an invoice is still unpaid 30 days after the due date, the service is suspended automatically until it is paid.
- Invoices unpaid 30 days after the due date may also get a late fee of 6%.
- Domains are set to renew automatically by default. You can change this in the client area.
- You can ask to cancel a service at any time from the client area. Unpaid invoices for a cancelled service are cancelled with it.
How to pay: see How do I make a payment in the knowledgebase (sign in first).
4. Your account and your content
- You are responsible for everything on your account: website files, email, apps and anything your users upload.
- Keep your passwords safe and do not share logins. Tell us right away if you think someone else got into your account.
- Keep your own copy of important files and email. Our backups help in an emergency, but they do not replace your own copy.
- Keep WordPress, plugins and themes up to date. Hacked sites that attack others may be suspended until they are cleaned.
5. Suspension and ending a service
We may suspend a service without notice when it breaks section 1, puts our servers or other customers at risk, or is unpaid (section 3). Where we can, we tell you why and what to do to get it back. Services ended for breaking section 1 are not refunded.
6. Privacy
How we handle your information is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, AkolagTech is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, such as lost profits or lost data, arising from the use of, or inability to use, our services.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws where AkolagTech operates: the United States, and Nigeria through Akolag Technology Limited, our Nigeria company. Nothing here overrides a separate signed agreement with you.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our services or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. Using a service after a change means you accept the new terms.
10. Questions and reporting abuse
