Why your business should use email on its own domain

Short answer: An address on your own domain builds trust and stays with you if you change providers. Create it in cPanel in a few minutes.

Customers trust sales@yourbusiness.com more than a random free address. It also stays yours if you ever change provider.

Why it matters

An address on your own domain tells customers you are a real business. You can move to another provider and keep the same address.

What to do

  1. Create the mailboxes you need. See Create an email account.
  2. Use a few role addresses (info, sales, support) and forward them to real people.
  3. Check SPF, DKIM and DMARC so your mail reaches the inbox.
  4. Put the address on your website, cards and invoices.
The cPanel Create an Email Account form.
Creating a mailbox: cPanel, then Email Accounts, then Create.
The Webmail login page with Email Address and Password boxes.
Read your mail from any browser on the webmail login page. Use your full email address.

Do not

  • Do not share one password between several people.
  • Do not send bulk newsletters from a hosting mailbox. Use a sending service.
